Trappist tripel ale
Launched in 2001, Achel Blond has rekindled this Trappist monastry’s proud brewing heritage, which had been dormant for some 75 years. The beer pours golden orange with a slight yeast haze. Pleasant citrus and pear come through on the aroma, while the honey and bready malt flavours are balanced by a spicy, dry finish. Perhaps more akin to a saison than a traditional Trappist tripel.
FOOD & BEER:
Matches particularly well with grilled mackerel and sardines. Try also with firm white fish such as monkfish.
