    BEER NOTES: Jambe-de-Bois is a powerful and full-bodied strong blonde that takes the hoppiness of Westmalle Tripel a step further. It has a scent of ripe banana and a subtle blend of aromatic hops that add earth, spice, fresh grass and lemon. On the palate it all combines with a champagne-like fizz and bready bittersweetness.
    FOOD & BEER: Best as an aperitif.

    STRONG GOLDEN ALE

    BEER NOTES: Launched in 1989, Delirium Tremens was elected best beer in the world in Stuart Kallen’s 50 Best Beers Of The World. It is a bright golden beer with a dense white head, a sweet fruity flavour and lots of warming alcohol. It's made with Czech Saaz hops and Styrian Goldings, and fermented with three different yeasts.
    FOOD & BEER: Delirium works well as an aperitif, but try it with charcuterie, grilled fish or chicken.

    BEER NOTES: Effervescent golden beer brewed in Belgium then refermented with Champagne yeast in France. A wonderful spicy tripel-style beer with a crisp Champagne finish. A perfect replacement for Champagne in a beer bar, and makes a great Bucks Fizz too.
    FOOD & BEER: A perfect aperitif, and wonderful will shellfish.

    STRONG GOLDEN ALE

    Breendonk, Belgium
    BEER NOTES: For many, this is the definitive strong Belgian golden ale. High carbonation produces a towering foamy white head which contrasts beautifully with a sparkling light golden body. Up-front there's apple and pear, then a clean and very refreshing malt character, followed by a lingering dry hop finish. The brewery also bring out an annual single-hop version, using a different hop each time.
    FOOD & BEER: Excels with firm, white fish and poultry. Duvel also has the power to take on the potent flavours of pan-Asian cuisines.

    BEER NOTES: Originally brewed for the Knights of the Golden Fleece in 1491 this full and beautifully balanced triple beer from Het Anker has won many awards and is a stunning example of the style. Golden and spicy, it dances on your tongue before a balanced, dry hop finish.

    BEER NOTES: An award-winning tripel ale from the celebrated Huyghe brewery, Melle. This golden blond, multigrain beer uses Saaz, Brewers Gold and Amarillo to get a lovely grassy, spiced and citrussy aroma. On the palate it is initially rather sweet, with an intense fruity flavour from the Belgian yeast and hops, before a clean bitter finish.
    FOOD & BEER: Great with all kinds of seafood, particularly white fish and scallops.

    BEER NOTES: Lost and Grounded head brewer Alex has a longstanding love of strong Belgian beers and they were part of the reason he has made his home in Europe instead of his native Australia. This cloudy, smooth tripel is made with lots of pale malt to allow the hops and spice to come through and make for a surprisingly sippable beer.
    FOOD & BEER: Delicious with creamy sauces and soft cheeses, but at its best on its own.

    BEER NOTES: Wonderful tripel from the Halve Maan, a highly regarded brewery that also brews the wonderful Bruges Zot. it has a deep golden body and a full white head, orange, lemon and warm spices dominate the nose, and six different malts produce a rich fruity body with caramel notes. Saaz and Styrian Goldings provide the bitter hop balance.
    FOOD & BEER: Matches well to strong hard cheese, white fish and poultry. Has the punch to cope with cream based sauces and spicy heat.

    BEER NOTES: Wheat, barley and oats are the trio of grains in this elegant and much admired strong Belgian ale. Gold in appearance with a voluminous snow-white head, perfumed vanilla, spicy cinnamon and cloves dominate the bouquet, whilst honey sweetness is layered onto the rewarding underlying oaty malt flavour.
    FOOD & BEER: Great with cheese and charcuterie, also pairs superbly with delicately spiced Asian chicken and seafood.
