Cave Direct was founded in 1979 when Colin & Lou’s father Bryan, took voluntary redundancy and started a small wine importing business with his wife Alice who happened to be Belgian. The family began importing from Europe to supply to local shops in the South East London region but after picking up a few Belgian beers to add to their offering it was soon clear that the beer was the future. By the 90’s Cave Direct was well renowned for their Belgian imports and in 2003 the company found a new relationship with Paulaner.
Over the next 20 years, more and more exciting beers came through the door and Cave Direct now import some of the best beer from all over the world, with three branches in the UK.
