The legendary Oktoberfest in Munich - also known as the “Wiesn” - is the largest beer festival in the world as well as one of the most popular and longest-running folk festivals anywhere. It stands for conviviality, tradition and Bavarian “Gemütlichkeit”. For over 200 years now, people have come from all over the world to the Oktoberfest to commemorate this special occasion. The Oktoberfest Bier is an established component of the festivities and as such also a part of Munich’s rich brewing tradition. Paulaner brews the original Oktoberfest Bier. Indeed, it is one of only six Munich-based breweries that are permitted to brew and serve real Oktoberfest Bier.
